    1. 诚实可以帮助孩子认识错误，认清自己的缺点，有利于自己的成长。

    2. 诚实也是一种重要的社会品质。做个诚实的孩子有利于未来的学习和工作。

    3. 乐于助人和做事井井有条固然也很重要，可以帮助孩子获得快乐，提高学习效率。但是，诚实更重要。

    Imparting the significant values to young children has become a heated topic in the society nowadays. People hold various opinions about which value should be shared with young children. In my opinion, however, honesty is the most indispensable value.

    First and foremost, being honest can help children recognize their mistakes, which is beneficial to children’s development. It is undeniable that children, especially those aged 5 to 10, cannot tell right from wrong and easily go astray sometimes. However, teaching children to be honest may help them be fully aware of their mistakes and flaws, which is an integral part of children’s growth. As long as young children admit their mistakes and flaws, they will make much progress in their own development. A good example is Washington, the first president of America, admitted his mistake instead of denying it when his father found the cherry tree in their garden had been cut down.

    Another reason is that good faith is an essential quality for a person to make a living in the society. It is well known that an honest person can always acquire trust from others, which is beneficial to the career development. For example, facing company bankruptcy, a businessman with good faith may easily getcustomer credit from banks. On the contrary, those insincere entrepreneurs may be caught in a dilemma. Educationists believe that instilling the right value to people should commence in their childhood, since young children can easily shape and build a positive life value. Once they get older, it is rather difficult for people to correct their misconduct and reshape the right value.

    Some people may contend that being helpful or being well organized is the most significant value for a young child. Indeed, helpfulness makes children feel a sense of achievement and fulfillment. They will obtain pleasure from helping others. Also, being well organized is an important quality for a child, since well organization skills can keep their study and life in order, which undoubtedly enhances the studying efficiency. But we cannot deny that children aged 5 to 10 basically have no social experience and some fundamental living skills. Therefore, they may find it is impossible to help others when emergency occurs. And it is rather difficult for young children to deal with their daily routines systematically. On the other hand, young children aged 5 to 10 are at the important life stage to be frank with many challenges in their life.

    In conclusion, being honest is the most crucial value for a young child. Good faith not only promotes children’s growth but also creates a harmonious atmosphere in the society.
